A Cut Above started from Joan’s desire to start a hobby----that hobby quickly turned into a part-time business. 3 years later in 1990 we made the big decision to commit to this as a full time endeavor.  We chose the name A Cut Above because we truly want to produce products that are a cut above---products that say quality.  Our goal is to have a marriage, family, and business that honors God, is fair and honest, and treats each customer, employee, and vendor the way we would want to be treated.  We work hard to make the best quality product at a fair price.  We believe in the old-fashioned work ethic that seems to be lost in much of today’s society.   Chuck & Joan Jarrett

Our Shop.

      We have unique capabilities here at A Cut Above. Our tools and equipment range from the very traditional, like our vintage and rare 16” jointer to the very latest in laser engraving and cutting, as well as a modern CNC router.  We enjoy and appreciate much of the old style woodworking, yet realize some of the newer equipment gives us capabilities that would be difficult, if not imposible if performed by hand.
